Leaving Carnarvon we continued our journey north passing through Rolleston (a morning tea stop) arriving in Emerald for lunch. A bistro at a local tavern was our lunch venue - a break from sandwiches and tea being our normal "on the road" fare.

Our "water views" at Theresa Creek Dam
After refueling we headed to Theresa Creek Dam out from Clermont on the Charters Towers road.  This is one of the El Cheapo camp spots we found in our Camp Australia book.  Arriving before dark allowed us to get in a little kayaking across the dam - absolutely beautiful skimming across the water at dusk with the birds splashing about and the sky perfectly clear.  At $10 a night with toilets and hot & cold showers what more could you ask for?
