The next two days were spent at Carnarvon Gorge National Park situated between Roma and Emerald. We stayed at the Takarakka Bush Resort on the eastern edge of the Park. Here we had power, water, hot and cold showers and good quality loos . . . but, despite these little luxuries, we were still isolated- no mobile phone or internet connection.

What a great place to stay. The keen bushwalker could easily spend a week here. As we only had one full day we did the Art Gallery walk visiting the Moss Garden on the way - a 14 km walk crossing the Carnarvon Creek a number of times. The Art Gallery contains some of the country's best Aboriginal rock art dating back 19,000 years.
